Description of the Project
For more than 60 years, various agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) have offered microfinance services through integrated development programmes and self-standing microfinance institutions. Today, these programmes have been brought together under the Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance (AKAM).
AKAM’s mission is to affect demonstrable, measurable, and lasting improvement in the quality of life of its clients by delivering appropriate financial services to reduce poverty, diminish the vulnerability of the disadvantaged and enable economic and social inclusion.
Innpact has supported AKAM in designing and structuring a financial inclusion fund investing in microfinance institutions located Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Cote D’Ivoire, Egypt, Kyrgyz Republic, Madagascar, Mali, Pakistan, Syria andTajikistan.
