Job description:
Role:
Within our AIFM, we are currently looking for a motivated Operations Trainee to join our Operations team and to act as support in the internal valuation and to the supervision of delegates. The Operations Trainee will contribute to the monitoring of our service providers and to the collection of reliable inputs for the valuation of assets managed by Innpact Fund Management and will contribute to the continued success of the company by strengthening the operation function and related activities.
Responsibilities:
- Take part in the valuation of assets held by our funds including but not limited to private equity, private debt, venture capital and carbon credits, derivatives
- Collect all relevant input information for the review of the valuation (market trends, economic indicators, and other relevant factors, financial statements)
- Perform first level review for consistency
- Document review and identify exceptions
- Support the Valuation Manager in his/her review and follow up questions
- Prepare valuation reports and documentation for the internal valuation committee
- Provide support with the supervision of delegates and service providers (mainly fund administrators and depository banks)
- Collect KPIs (key performance indicators) and other relevant documentation in relation to the services
- Prepare a first level review for completeness and consistency
- Maintain proper records of reviews performed
- Support the team in their day-to-day operational activities, including oversight, internal and external reporting
Profile:
- A strong desire to align his/her job to deliver sustainable and responsible services and motivated to support the development of the impact finance sector.
- A good theoretical understanding of financial statements as input to the valuation of alternative illiquid investments.
- Knowledge of valuation principles, methodologies, and techniques would be an advantage.
- Quantitative and analytical skills, including understanding of financial modeling and financial analysis.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive problem-solving attitude
- Student in second year of a master’s degree program in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field. An additional certification is a plus.
- Excellent written and spoken English
