On the occasion of Innpact’s 10th year anniversary celebration on February 27th 2018, we had the honour of receiving Dr Bertrand Piccard –  initiator and chair of the Solar Impulse Foundation and co-pilot of Solar Impulse, the first successful round-the-world solar powered flight – who gave an inspirational and impactful speech on solutions that can serve and protect the environment in a profitable way.

Envisioning environmental issues through the lens of profitability, promoting clean and profitable solutions, Dr Bertrand Piccard demonstrated in the most inspirational manner that solving climate change leads the way to formidable business opportunities.

The key message delivered by Dr Piccard was to put an increased focus on the importance to communicate on the links between climate change and impact finance initiatives.

“The success of companies such as Innpact is proof that today it is possible to generate positive environmental and social impacts as well as a financial return, and that investing in innovative business models is logical, even more than ecological. It creates jobs, improves quality of life, and generates clean, sustainable growth that is largely preferable to the current statu quo. “

Dr Bertrand Piccard

These powerful words provided a perfect transition to announce the signature of a Collaboration Agreement between Innpact and the World Alliance for Efficient Solutions to support the Global Alliance in the process of identification and selection of 1,000 ecological and economically profitable solutions focussing on the following Sustainable Development Goals: Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Production and Consumption.

Innpact’s expertise in designing and analysing impact investment funds and strategies and establishing contacts with like-minded fund promoters will be a valuable contribution to this innovative, impactful and complementary partnership.
